This link is to an interesting article in today's SF Chronicle. As we've discussed in class, there is a lot of gray area surrounding human origins. However, I find that even the disagreements between scientists are educational. Furthermore, the actual discovery is still fascinating.

ReplyDeleteThis is a great illustration of what we've been talking about. You're very right to point out that the debates often illuminate the issues better than pat answers. Too often people will assume the whole thing is invalid when there is disagreement among the experts, when in fact, there is usually much more consensus than disagreement overall.
